Who are we
Created in 1984 by Mr. Tony Haddad, DIAMPREST - which stands for Diamonds and Precious Stones - has set up its offices and headquarters in the magical city of Paris. More precisely at 48, rue Lafayette, which is located in Paris’ 9th district, one of the world’s most mythical locations for French High Jewelry.
We were among the first "diamantaires" and gemologists to have ever offered their clientele such a wide and important range of the rarest colored natural diamonds available in the world, which today has become one of our main activities.
Furthermore, we have the pleasure of providing our customers an ample variety of traditional precious stones such as Sapphires, Rubies and Emerald, as well as semi-precious gemstones.
In order to meet today’s high demands and to stay up-to-date with the booming economy, we have the pleasure of providing our customers a new service with our “e-shop” page.
Available there, is a large selection of gemstones, thus making it easier for our customers to do their shopping online.
Experiences
Diamprest performs a qualified service thanks to his high skilled team, graduated of the « Institut National de Gemmologie » who are at your disposal to advice and help you in your sell-selections.
We realize rigorously our selections of gemstones.
Our stock is always available with a large range of varieties and colours, in every cut with unique tones.
Personalized quotations are sent to you as soon as we receive your demand. We insure quick and regular deliveries too.
In reply to treatments made on precious stones named « coloured stones », we always demand certificates of our products to the Laboratory of Paris Chamber of Commerce.
Today, Diamprest team are composed with eleven persons, who propose to our clients their experiences and knowledges by selecting gemstones with a system of selection and graduation (which is registered system).
Certificates
The creation of certificates at 1970 has allow development of a lot of laboratories. In spite of his youth, created in 1936, the Laboratory of Paris Chamber of Commerce remains the oldest in the world.
Acknowledgement of diamonds insure the value of the stones, which can be considered as a real investment. This application is available for exceptional stones, like ruby.
The aim of a certificate is to identify the stone, to notify its quality and to check its composition : natural or not. It is an paper identification card.
Only natural coloured stones can obtain a certificate, in case of doubt on their origin no certificate can be delivered.
International standards of diamond (International rules for grading polished diamond) have been settled in 1978, during the International Diamond Council (I.D.C.).
These standards for diamond are :
- Weight
- purity
- colorr
- fluorescence
- proportions with a high degree of accuracy
the characteristics intern are indicated in red and the external characteristics are indicated in green.
The laboratories authorized to provide these certificates are :
- H.R.D. : Hoge Raad voor Diamant (diamond hight council)
- I.G.I. : International Gemmological Institute
- G.I.A. : Gemological Institute of America
- L.F.G.-C.C.I.P. : Laboratoire Française de Gemmologie – Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris
- E.G.L. : European Gemological Laboratory
- S.S.E.F. : Institut suisse de gemmologie
- A.G.S.L. : American Gem Society Laboratories
Certain laboratories can provide certificates under seals.
The certificate of diamonds of color is not exactly the same one as colourless diamonds. The standards are :
- weight
- color
- tonality
- intensity of the color
- proportions
In colored diamonds, the purity is not indicated except if it influences the color.
Our stones are regularly controlled and on request we provide you a certificate. Professionalims and confidence are the insurance of our trade.
Kimberley Processus
This process applies to the export and importation of unworked diamonds. It was created in 2002 by the Countries of the Southern Africa supported by the United Nations, and install since January 1, 2003.
This process makes it possible to guarantee that the diamonds which we buy are not used to finance the wars, at least to our knowledge.
More than 70 countries take part in this process.
We guarantee to our customers that our diamonds are not diamonds being used to finance wars by adhesion with the Process of Kimberley.
